GAME 1 - Stade Olympique
Rogers vs Osteen
Expos 2, Dodgers 0
Steve Rogers (3-0, 1.90) fired 8 innings of shutout ball before handing it over to the pen. With 2 out in the 9th reliever Woodie Fryman walked Bill Grabarkewitz then served up a single to pinch hitter Wes Parker. Manger Pester had seen enough and brought in Jeff Reardon to face PH Dusty Baker. The man with the beard got the K and saved the ballgame.
GAME 2
Sutton vs Hesketh
Dodgers 4, Expos 3
Dusty Baker and Davey Lopes went an identical 2-4 with 2 RBI's to pace a Dodger offense that needed to rebound from being shutout the night before. Don Sutton (2-1, 1.59) went 8 and gave up 3. Jim Brewer pitched a scoreless 9th to grab the save.
GAME 3 - Dodger Stadium
Renko vs Singer
Dodgers 13, Expos 1
After two close contests the rubber match turned out to be a blowout. The Dodgers dropped a 5 spot on Steve Renko and the Expos in the bottom of the first and never looked back. Most important for the men from La-La land was the fact that they finally got an ace-like performance from Bill Singer (1-1, 5.40). Singer gave up 1 run in a complete game effort. Willie Davis and Mike Scioscia both had 3 hit games. Bill Russell was the only one in the lineup without a hit. Davis' leadoff homer started the ball rolling as LA never looked back.
