GAME ONE -- Wilson Alvarez (1-2) allowed just a pair of Indians runs in 7.2 innings of work and Robin Ventura highlighted a 3-run 7th with a 2-run double. The White Sox won just their second game of this KOD23 season, 4-2. Magglio Ordonez banged out 3 hits for the winners. Dave Justice collected 3 hits in a losing effort.
GAME TWO -- Bartolo Colon (2-0) pitched 8 very strong innings, allowing only 2 runs and 4 hits and every Cleveland player had at least 1 hit in a 10-4 clubbing of the ChiSox. Justice again led the club with 3 safties. Albert Belle (3) and Carlos Baerga (2) hit long ones. Frank Thomas (3,4) crushed 2 homers for the Sox.
GAME THREE -- Alex Fernandez (1-3), Neal Cotts and Roberto Hernandez combined on an improbable 6-hit shut out against a very powerful Indians offense. Ventura collected 2 more RBI as Chicago won 6-0.
